A Message from Charles Brettell

On the heels of the recent passage by the U.S. House of Representatives of The American Clean Energy & Security Act (cleverly named "ACES"), our message of Asset Optimization - lean, efficient & profitable operations - rings more true than ever across energy sectors and asset classes.

While much work is still left to do, suffice it to say that Clients on all sides of our business - PowerGen, Ethanol and Oil & Gas - have something to think about (and act on) today and for the foreseeable future.  No matter the subject - cap-and-trade, indirect land use changes or CO2 offsets - never before has a single energy bill (along with its Senate counterpart) added so much complexity to the analysis of energy assets while leaving so much to future planning & implementation among the maze of overlapping Federal agencies.  Fortunately, EAS is your "ACES" in the hole.

Whether you're trying to figure out if you should buy an asset (or what to buy), how best to maximize what's already in your portfolio or plan for the "unknowable" future, our team of analysts & technicians, each with deep industry experience, can help you determine the best all-around course of action.  All you have to do is ask.

To make it even easier to get EAS on your team, we'll be hosting a series of webinars over the coming weeks that will highlight the analytical & technical optimization capabilities in our PowerGen and Ethanol practice groups.  The sessions will adhere to the standard "presentation followed by Q&A" format with the hope that the back-and-forth of the discussion is anything but standard.  Please plan to take advantage of this "EAS Test Drive" opportunity either by preregistering your interest with an e-mail to events@energyassetsolutions.com or by checking the "Events" section of our website over the next few days for more details on how to participate.

Finally, and as always, if anything here inspires you, feel free to contact me at your convenience at bbrettell@energyassetsolutions.com.

Thanks,

Bob

“What should I do with my ethanol assets?”

The ethanol industry is facing an environment like none it has witnessed before.  Brought on by a convergence of once-in-a-lifetime events, the challenge now is to weather the storm and come out the other side.

But even with the promise of a recovering market on the horizon, you can't wait it out.  You’ve got act today to right the ship and plot a course for a better future - you've got to start becoming the least cost producer now.

So, where to start?

You don’t need more advisors – you need the right advisors.

If you’re like most participants in the ethanol industry, you know there’s no shortage of "advisors" lined up to provide you their services at big city rates.  But are they really the right advisors for your ethanol business?

Can they boast of a team that has provided start-up, commissioning, optimization & management services to plants accounting for over 10% of US ethanol production by volume?  Can they document an average of 20+ years experience in the ethanol industry among their practice leads?  Can they point to a farm-state heritage and people that live in the same communities where your plants are located?

EAS can.

Experience still matters.

When you need a go-to team to help you optimize your ethanol assets for today and plan for tomorrow, there’s nobody better than EAS.

Our team has the exact experience you need, when you need it to help you decide what to do, how to do it and help you get it done.  Simple, quick and to the point.

So, when you need an experienced partner to help you navigate the storm, call on EAS – we’re here to help.

EAS.  Experienced . . .  Ethanol . . . Solutions.
